RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a man facing charges stemming from a stabbing on the Yellow Quill First Nation.
Police were dispatched Monday evening to the community, located about 250 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
They were responding to reports of a fight on the community’s main service road.
Officers arrived to find a 22-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in Saskatoon with what were described as serious injuries.
20-year-old Austin Severight faces a number of charges, including attempted murder, uttering threats and possession of a weapon.
Police described Severight as an aboriginal man, five feet, eight inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on Severight’s whereabouts was urged not to approach him, but rather to call either their local police service or the Greenwater RCMP detachment at 306-322-2550.
