Terry Burant’s home shines seven days a week during the Christmas season.
“We have thousands and thousands and thousands of Christmas lights,” Burant said. “They are all timed to go along with music that we broadcast from a couple of blocks around the house.”
Burant told the Greg Morgan Morning Show on Tuesday that his home at 3414 Phaneuf Cres., has around 25,000 lights.
“Just to give you an idea, I have one big tree at the front of the yard and it’s got about 200 strings of lights, so there’s about 15,000 lights just on that one tree,” Burant said.
All the money that is donated each year through the light display goes towards the Canadian Cancer Society.
“It’s something that really affects almost every family out there.” Burant said. “My neighbours and the people can appreciate at least that part of why I’m doing it.”

His neighbours are not disappointed in the extra holiday cheer in the area either.
“My neighbours are really really supportive,” Burant said. “I get great feedback throughout the year.”
Starting Nov. 1, Burant said he hits the ground running stringing up lights in the yard and putting together various parts of the display.
“It’s something that even in the middle of summer I’m sitting there listening to new songs deciding if I am going to add them or going to the garage building some new little part of the display,” he said. “It certainly doesn’t stop all year.”
The show is even complete with a sweet treat for the viewers.
“A big hit: We have a candy cane dispenser so people can go up and grab a candy cane while they watch the show,” Burant said.
On Saturday, Olaf — the snowman from the movie Frozen — and Spiderman will be available for pictures.
Burant’s shows run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. during the week, then 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on weekends. The last showing will be on Jan. 2.
