A 58-year-old La Loche woman is facing a murder charge after a 42-year-old woman’s death.
According to the RCMP, paramedics in the northern community notified the Mounties about an altercation that required a woman to be hospitalized on Thursday night. The following day, the woman succumbed to her injuries in a Saskatoon hospital.

“Her next of kin have been notified and victims services offered to the family,” the RCMP said in a statement.
After an investigation, police said Glenda Piche has been charged with second-degree murder. She was remanded into custody ahead of a court appearance set for Tuesday in La Loche.
