The season doesn’t officially start until June 21, but people in Saskatchewan have been enjoying some decidedly summer-like temperatures this week.
Saskatoon very nearly tied a warm weather record on Thursday, hitting a high of 33.8 C. The record for June 1 was 33.9 degrees, set in 1956.
The Friday morning forecast was calling for another beautiful day in the Bridge City. Temperatures were expected to hit 27 C.
Warm temperatures were expected to carry through the weekend in Saskatoon.
Elsewhere in the province, Moose Jaw and Watrous tied for the warmest spot in Saskatchewan Thursday. Both communities hit a high of 34.6 C, which was a record for Moose Jaw.
Wynyard, Weyburn, Prince Albert and Regina also saw record highs on Thursday.
