Lumsden RCMP alongside the fire departments from Regina Beach, Lumsden and Bethune responded to a large fire near Regina Beach on Sunday afternoon.
The fire started in a rural area before making its way towards the town’s landfill.
RCMP asked drivers around 3 p.m. on Sunday to avoid the area southwest of Highway 54.
There are also some local road closures in place.
Smoke remains heavy in the area resulting in reduced visibility.
