It was a scorcher at the Rider game on Saturday, with the temperature climbing to 35 C by kickoff, leaving people reaching for more than just $9 stadium beers.
With just four water fountains in the stadium that holds more than 30,000 people, people were left in long lines waiting to refill bottles.
After searching and asking staff twice for water fountain guidance, I managed to find one. Approx 75 people in line for H2O. Brutal.

In a joint statement, the City of Regina, Evraz Place and the Saskatchewan Roughriders say they’re continuing to review the game-day experience during the inaugural season for the new Mosaic Stadium.
“As operators of Mosaic Stadium, Evraz Place, along with the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club, strive to provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all patrons,” the statement reads.
It also addressed what some fans complained about – confusion over the rules of what could be brought in at some of the gates.
“We are aware that there was inconsistency at one gate around what fans were allowed to bring in with them and this is being addressed with on-site security personnel,” the city said in the statement.
Fans are also reminded they can bring in sealed bottled water – up to one litre – as well as empty refillable bottles up to the same size. The statement pointed out there is no limit on how many sealed bottles can be brought in. Water, of course, is also available for purchase from vendors in the stadium.
We did, and then we drank it all b/c it's a thousand degrees. 3 water fountains is insufficient. It's not only on the fans to be prepared. https://t.co/87RUr2OXNv

This isn't a good look @CityofRegina @sskroughriders. People leaving on gurneys. This stadium is state of the art but you missed the mark. pic.twitter.com/trdnz2tygD
