Visitors to Regina now have additional resources to explore events and activities across the city.
On Friday, Tourism Regina – in partnership with Tourism Saskatchewan and Regina International Airport – announced the opening of two visitor kiosks.
One is located at the airport’s arrivals area and the other is on the ground floor at City Hall.
This summer, the YQR airport kiosk will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday although; depending on which hours are busiest, those times might be liable to change.
The City Hall kiosk is scheduled to be open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
“This is an opportunity for visitors to see our information but then also get customized travel tips and advice so that they can really experience and discover everything that there is to see in Regina while they’re here,” said Jennifer Johnson with Tourism Regina.
She said the airport had been working on setting up this kiosk since before the pandemic but it went on hold for a while.
The positions at the airport are currently summer student jobs, but Johnson said they have plans to keep the kiosk open year-round.

“We want people to know how much is going on in Regina,” she said.
“On any given day or weekend, there’s actually tons of events and … we often hear questions about ‘What is there to do in Regina?’ We are here to answer that question for everyone and we’re very excited to do that.”
The kiosk at the airport also features an interactive digital display.
Mayor Sandra Masters said the introduction of these kiosks makes it easier to discover the hidden gems that Regina has to offer.
“Having something like this which is helpful and actually allows people to perhaps even add to their itinerary from what they were originally going to experience,” she said.
“I think it’s positive for all the shops and associations and arts and culture organizations that we have, but it’s also going to be a really positive experience for visitors.”
James Bogusz, president and CEO of Regina Airport Authority, said the airport wants to make sure that visitors have an experience that they can remember – especially since the airport views itself as the gateway to southern Saskatchewan.
“Having this new booth is going to create a better imagery, it’s going to create collateral material – both digital and paper – but almost more importantly, it’s going to provide the old school human touch,” Bogusz said.
Bogusz said the initiative cost more than $150,000 and that Tourism Saskatchewan contributed more $45,000.
“We want to grow to greater heights,” he said. “We want to see this airport be bigger with more flights than ever in the future and this is just one of the many (things) we’re doing to attract more of that activity to our community.”
Bogusz said it was up to Tourism Regina to decide staffing levels at the kiosks.
He also said that volunteers for major events such as Agribition, could use the kiosks to promote those events.
