Multiple members of Laviolette’s family were present in the gallery and, at the conclusion of the short hearing, one man stood and shouted at the prisoner’s box, “[redacted] little punk… you killed my grandson.”
He was escorted from the courthouse soon after.
On Sept. 1, 2024, Laviolette was found dead in the 1200 block of 28th Street East.
Following his death, a number of heartfelt messages have been shared on social media by friends and family, including one by his father.
“My Son, My Man, My first born son Darren Jr. My heart broke into a million pieces when they told me you weren’t here with us anymore,” he wrote.
“I’m hurt, I’m shattered and I miss you so much already. I love you my man.”
Joseyounen and Head were remanded back into custody ahead of court appearances set for June 25 and July 3.
