Four tornadoes touched down in Saskatchewan on Thursday, Environment Canada confirmed to 980 CJME.
The weather office previously said eight “likely tornadoes” rolled through southern Saskatchewan on June 19. The storms caused significant damage to one farmhouse, smashing windows and ripping shingles and a deck off of the home.

“There were an awful lot of reports there,” said Meteorologist Dan Fulton.
Fulton said one tornado was confirmed in the Hersh/Frobisher area, between Estevan and Oxbow. A second was confirmed near Davin, southeast of Regina. The third was at Young, southeast of Saskatoon, and the fourth was near Hubbard, west of Yorkton.
Fulton said there are a few other tornado reports from Thursday that are still being investigated.
“They might even be the same tornado as one of those confirmed ones,” Fulton said. “It’s a little bit hard to tell at the moment.”
He said representatives from the Northern Tornadoes Project are in Saskatchewan investigating the reports.
“They are actually sending people out to this one, so they are checking it out for us,” the meteorologist explained.
“We often use radar, eyewitness reports, things like that to try and confirm whether it touched down or not.”
Saskatoon area hit with hail and funnel clouds
Some dramatic skies were seen around the Saskatoon area on Monday.
Environment Canada placed parts of southwestern Saskatchewan under a tornado watch on Monday afternoon as a weather system brought funnel clouds and a blast of hail to parts of the province.
“There was actually a small but fairly well-defined disturbance crossing the province yesterday,” Fulton explained.
“It started in Alberta and moved through Saskatchewan.”
He said one of the funnel cloud reports came from an area near Harris, southwest of Saskatoon, though it is not confirmed to have touched down
“I’ve had a look at some of the pictures,” he said. “We’re going to see if we can dig into it a little bit more. We’ll probably have people working on that today.”
Photos on social media showed hail falling around Plenty, Neilburg, and Kerrobert.
