A garbage truck fell into a sinkhole more than three feet deep early Wednesday morning after a water main broke behind the Towers strip mall in Regina.
The sinkhole left part of the vehicle submerged in muddy water and flooded Dependable Vacuums, a nearby business.
In a statement provided to 980 CJME, the City of Regina said the fuel tank of the Loraas truck was damaged, causing a leak. “City crews have responded to the situation and repairs to the water main and environmental cleanup are underway. The cause of the water main break is under investigation and there are no further details at this time,” the statement read.
