Melville’s Wanda Ward has one plan when it comes to spending her major cash prize: sharing it with her family.
“I’m going to spoil my grandchild,” she said.
“She turned three months old on the day I won, and it was Grandparents’ Day!”

She won the grand jackpot of $1,377,655.89 on Vault Breaker at Western Pizza in Melville on Sept. 7, according to Western Canada Lottery Corporation.
Ward said she was surprised when she saw the prize amount.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said .
“I was the only one in there [when I won]. “I was shaking.”
Vault Breaker links 4,200 VLTs located in more than 270 communities across the province. There are three mystery jackpot tiers.
The province-wide jackpot has awarded $54,570,003.70 to 54 winners since June 2017. The province-wide grand jackpot has now been reset to $500,000 after Ward’s massive win.
