No injuries were reported and power was restored by 8:20 a.m.
Later that evening at around 7 p.m., a train contacted a power line near Broad Street and McKinley Avenue, according to SaskPower.
“The collision brought down several power poles and disrupted power to the same customers. SaskPower crews immediately responded and began working to restore power,” it said in a statement.

Power was restored by 8:30 p.m. for most customers in the area. Almost all remaining customers had power restored by 12:30 a.m.
As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, crews were still repairing damage and restoring service to 14 customers.
“We do not have an estimated time of restoration for those 14 customers yet,” SaskPower said.

Donna Miner lives across the street from the home where a power pole landed on its roof.
She said everything happened so fast.
“I heard a scream… then I heard the train crash, it sounded like they were connecting, then all of a sudden I saw a bunch of sparks and that telephone pole just flew,” Miner said.
Miner had trouble sleeping that night, afraid of each passing train.
“Every time I hear a train now, I’m looking out my window,” she said.
Miner has lived in the area for almost 17 years and said she’s never seen something like this.

Jack Dunn said he heard a zap while he was working in his backyard.
“I was freaking out,” he said. “I saw the wires being pulled and stretched as the train went down.”
Dunn is grateful the pole didn’t land in his yard.
“If that train would have been coming this way, that pole would have been right on me,” he said.
The power outage also disrupted traffic on some major streets in Regina, like Albert Street, where a train was stalled.
