A crash Friday morning that had traffic slowed to crawl on Argyle Street North for hours, ended up resulting in an impaired driving charge.
According to the Regina Police Service, the crash happened before 5:30 a.m. on Argyle Street at the Ring Road overpass.

Police said in a news release that the suspect vehicle came up and rear-ended the victim’s vehicle, and it was hard enough the vehicle was forced over a raised boulevard and into a retaining wall for the overpass.
Then the suspect’s vehicle kept driving south, through a chain-link fence and into a green space on the 400 block of Argyle Street North.
The victim was assessed and released by EMS on scene. The suspect was taken to hospital with what police described as “minor injuries”.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, a 30-year-old man, is being charged with impaired driving.
Throughout the early part of the day, traffic was slowed to a crawl on Argyle Street North as police investigated, with the road shut down. One caller to 980 CJME said there were nearly 100 cars waiting to get around it.
