The Regina Police Service (RPS) is urging the public to secure valuables after officers received multiple reports of theft, including stolen vehicles, from recreation facilities in in the city recently.
Both Mosaic Stadium and the Lawson Aquatic Centre are in the area where police said the reports were made, and officers believe there are up to nine suspects involved, ranging in age from nine to 13 years old.

High-speed pursuit after two vehicles stolen
Two youths were taken into custody after a high-speed chase with speeds reaching upwards of 170 km/h within the city on Oct. 2
Youth suspects stole two vehicles from the parking lot in the 1700 block of Elphinstone Street, police said, after taking four sets of keys from an unlocked dressing room.
RPS used the police plane and found both stolen vehicles later that evening. One vehicle was empty and police said the two youths were taken custody from the second vehicle.
Youth nearly run over police officer in chase
On Oct. 7, youth suspects also went on a break-in spree in towns including Balgonie and Melville, where they allegedly stole various items after police said they took the keys to a vehicle from an unlocked locker from a facility again in 1700 block of Elphinstone Street.
“When RCMP attempted a traffic stop, the youths evaded at a high rate of speed, nearly running over one of the officers,” police said in a statement.
Early the next morning, RCMP arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection with this incident.
The youths also allegedly took identification and a phone from the same unlocked locker.
After they took the vehicle from the parking lot, police said they stole a licence from another vehicle in the 2200 block of Lindsay Street before leaving the city. Although police did not name the building, the address corresponds with the Al Richie Ice Arena.
Police said they are still receiving reports of stolen unsecured items that were left on a bench and unsecured lockers at various other recreation facilities within the city. Some of these reports are believed to be connected with these incidents.
RPS says the public should lock up their personal items and valuables when using public facilities, not leave valuables in vehicles and lock vehicles no matter where they are.
