The male teenager was arrested later that morning with the assistance of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation security personnel, added police. The boy was charged with arson and failing to comply with undertaking condition.
Police said they were unable to identify the male youth’s name and age, due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
He was remanded into custody to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court via CCTV on Monday.
Sandy Bay RCMP is also investigating other structure fires, including three houses and one outbuilding, in Sandy Bay in October.
“It’s believed the fires may have been deliberately set. The investigations include determining whether there is any potential link between the incidents,” said Sandy Bay RCMP in a written statement.
