Regina’s police plane and a police dog were both used to arrest a 34-year-old man on Sunday.
The 34-year-old man was charged with breaking and entering with intent after police said a garage was broken into in the 900 block of Queen Street on Nov. 2, Regina Police Service (RPS) said in a news release on Nov. 3.

According to police, officers were called to the area at about 2:10 a.m. after receiving a report that “someone was inside a garage that was not theirs.”
With the help of the Regina police plane, the man was followed him as he ran away and hid under a deck a short distance away, police said.
Officers in the police plane directed a ground patrol and police dog to where he was hiding, but police said didn’t respond to orders to come out from under the deck and was “actively resisting arrest.”
The man was bitten by the police dog and arrested. Paramedics took him to hospital where he was treated with injuries consistent with a dog bite, RPS said.
He is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Dec. 16.
