Both buses were carrying passengers, but no reports of physical injury to occupants of other vehicles have been reported.
“Initial investigation shows the school bus was travelling on Broadway Avenue when it collided with a car and a city bus. It then entered a parking lot where it collided with a pedestrian,” police said in a statement.
The pedestrian, a 15-year-old girl, was taken to hospital by EMS. The statement from police said the girl was in what appeared to be a stable but critical condition.
The driver of the school bus was also taken to the hospital for further medical assessment.
The investigation is still ongoing and police are asking motorists to avoid the area until further notice.
