The RCMP and Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating the death of a 39-year-old inmate at the Regina Correctional Centre.
According to Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, the man was found unresponsive at a living unit at the jail just after 11 a.m. on Thursday. He was declared dead by paramedics less than a half-hour later.

“Next of kin have been notified,” the ministry said in a statement. “No foul play is suspected at this time.”
Along with the investigation by police and the coroners service, the ministry said it will also conduct its own internal inquiry into the man’s death.
