The team will parade south on Albert Street in “vehicles driven by the Royal Canadian Armed Forces.” The parade will end at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building’s steps, followed by speeches from head coach Corey Mace and Grey Cup MVP Trevor Harris.
“It will be a moment filled with cherished memories for the team and Rider Nation to make together,” the team said in a statement.
Fans were asked to line the parade route on Albert Street between 13th Avenue and 20th Avenue, in order to avoid congested residential streets closer to the stadium.
At around 3 p.m., the celebration program begins. The team leaves the Legislative Building at about 4 p.m.
Street closures will be in effect along the parade route.
Parking will not be available in front of the Legislature, and fans joining the team’s celebration will need to park in the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Organizers asked fans to celebrate responsibly, dress for the weather and expect large crowds.
Police offer parade-viewing advice
The Regina Police Service asked motorists to avoid the parade route area during the event.
“Fans are advised to remain on the west side of Albert Street for the best view of the parade, as north-bound traffic on Albert Street will continue as per normal,” said police in a statement.
Some transit routes affected by parade
Regina Transit says several routes will be closed temporarily to accommodate the Grey Cup Parade from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. These routes along Albert Street include No. 4, 7, 9, and 40.
