Hundeby appeared in seven regular-season games in 2025, recording 42 defensive tackles, six tackles for loss (ranking first in Canada West) and three sacks. He was the only player in the conference to generate five turnovers, which came by way of three forced fumbles and two interceptions.
He was named the 2025 Presidents’ Trophy winner as the most-outstanding defensive player in U Sports.
Hundeby helped lead the Huskies in the playoffs as the U of S won the Hardy Cup over the University of Regina Rams and then defeated the Queen’s Golden Gaels in the Mitchell Bowl. The Huskies’ playoff run ended in the 2025 Vanier Cup with a 30-16 loss to the Montreal Carabins. During the championship game, Hundeby had five defensive tackles and two sacks.
The linebacker played 53 games as a Husky over six seasons. He tallied 229 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, two interceptions, seven pass deflections and six forced fumbles.
Hundeby is one of the latest draft picks to sign a 2026 contract with the Riders, as wide receiver D’Sean Mimbs, defensive back Gideon Agyei and defensive lineman Liam Hoskins have also signed with the Green and White.
The Riders also inked offensive lineman Darius Washington to a contract extension. Washington dressed for four games for Saskatchewan in 2025.
Saskatchewan is coming off one of the most successful seasons in franchise history. The team finished the regular season with a CFL-best 12-6 record that culminated in a victory in the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, marking the fifth championship in the team’s history.
