An Avonlea woman won the Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s $896,899.70 Vault Breaker jackpot prize at the Blue Hills Motor Inn on Nov. 22.
After the Vault Breaker icons fell into place, Sara Hodgson said she wasn’t sure if she had actually won.

“I was surprised,” she explained in a statement. “And there was no one around me – I was talking to myself!”
Hodgson said she has a couple of plans for the big windfall.
“I’m going to pay off my house and help my elderly parents,” she stated. “I’ll take a vacation with some family and friends, too.”
“I’m also going to retire early,” Hodgson continued. “This is great – life changing!”
The province-wide jackpot has awarded $57,803,562.01 to 58 winners since June 2017. Vault Breaker’s province-wide grand jackpot has now been reset to $500,000.
Avonlea is located 78 kilometres southwest of Regina.
