Saskatoon firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire at a boarded-up home in the city’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood on Tuesday morning.
The Saskatoon Fire Department said it received the report of a structure in the 100 block of Avenue T South shortly before 8 a.m., and dispatched three fire engines, a rescue unit and a ladder truck to the scene.

For safety reasons, the fire department said it shut down the dwelling’s utilities as firefighters removed the boards from the windows and started extinguishing the fire.
The blaze was under control at 8:47 a.m., the fire department noted.
No injuries were reported, the fire department said, and no one was inside the home when the firefighters arrived.
“The Fire Investigator is on scene. Once the fire scene is fully extinguished and turned over, a cause and origin scene examination will begin,” the fire department said in a statement.
“Further details on damage will be provided at a later time.”
