Your old Christmas tree can find a second life as compost.
The City of Saskatoon reminded residents that live Christmas trees can be dropped off at the city’s Material Recovery Centre on Valley Road until the end of January.

“By diverting your trees away from the landfill, they instead will be chipped and composted or used as mulch,” the city said in a statement.
The city noted that the recovery centre is the only city-approved location to dispose of the trees, as the community-based drop-off sites used in previous years “are no longer available for use.”
The recovery centre, located near the city landfill, is open every day from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
