A man who was shot by a Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) officer during a search of a Sutherland home in December 2025 has been charged with attempted murder and uttering death threats.
On Dec. 20 members of the SPS Tactical Support Unit were executing a warrant in the 1500 block of Rayner Avenue, where a manufactured home community called Raynor Village is located, when the officer used the firearm, police said in an earlier news release.

The 25-year-old who was shot was taken to hospital and at the time police said he was believed to be in stable condition.
The man was charged on Jan. 21, and police said in a news release on Jan. 23 that he is still in hospital in stable condition.
SPS said the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is continuing to investigate and would provide any further details.
SIRT is a civilian-led, independent body that investigates incidents where a person has died or suffered serious injury arising from the actions of on or off-duty police officers, or while in the custody of police, as well as allegations of sexual assault or interpersonal violence involving police.
Final reports into SIRT investigations are issued to the public within 90 days of the investigation ending.
