The Scotties Tournament of Hearts is a long tournament, and Team Saskatchewan will look to put their opening game behind them.
Jolene Campbell and her rink could only muster a trio of singles as the team lost its opening game of the 2026 Canadian women’s curling championships. Campbell lost 11-3 to Nova Scotia’s Taylour Stevens on Saturday night in Mississauga, Ont.

The rink, which is based out of the Highland Curling Club in Regina, consists of Campbell at skip, Robyn Silvernagle at third, Rachel Big Eagle at second and lead Dayna Demmans.
In the loss, the rink only made 63 per cent of their shots — Campbell shot 47 per cent, Silvernagle at 56 per cent, Big Eagle with 68 per cent and Demmans led the way with 81 per cent.
Stevens opened the scoring with a single in the first end, which Campbell matched in the second. In end three, Stevens scored another point and then proceeded to steal a single in the fourth.
After Campbell was once again forced to settle for one in the fifth, Stevens scored a pair in the sixth. Campbell scored another single in the seventh but Stevens once again got a pair in the eighth. After Stevens scored four in the ninth, the teams did not play the 10th end.
Campbell is looking to become the first Saskatchewan skip to lead her rink to the Scotties title since 2011, when Amber Holland accomplished the feat. Campbell was an alternate on that team.
The Saskatchewan rink will be back on the ice on Sunday against Team B.C. and Taylor Reese-Hansen’s rink. That is expected to begin at 1 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
