Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe gave a bit of an update on their work with Richmound.
Some community members and the provincial opposition have called on the government to support the village after two years of conflicts with the “Kingdom of Canada” group.

“I talked to (Cypress Hills MLA) Doug Steele about that not too long ago, as well as (Minister of Government Relations Eric Schmalz) about it,” Moe said. “I believe they’re working closely with the community on how they support them, which was through very unique and trying times with what was occurring there.
“But the Ministry of Government Relations and Minister Schmaltz is working closely with them with the council and leadership there on how we move forward and support the community and the community members.”
Richmound incurred significant expenses dealing with the occupation of the old Richmound School by the the self-proclaimed Queen of Canada Romana Didulo and the “Kingdom of Canada” group for two years. They’ve also noted concern about the cost of addressing the school property in the future.
