Regina police have charged a second man with indignity to a dead body as they continue to investigate the city’s first murder of 2026.
Regina Police Service (RPS) said in a news release on Jan. 27 that the 37-year-old man was arrested on Jan. 26 and had also been charged with accessory after the fact to murder after the body of a man was found in an abandoned vehicle in the North Central neighbourhood last week.

On Jan. 23, a 26-year-old man was also charged with committing an indignity to a dead body and being an accessory after the fact to murder, as well as flight from a peace officer, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
RPS said the police plane was used to spot the vehicle in the early hours of Jan. 19 after the vehicle was driven off after officers attempted a traffic stop near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street.
When police arrived in the 1400 block of Princess Street the vehicle had been abandoned except for the body of the man. Police said that further investigation led officers to a home in the 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue and officers secured both scenes.
RPS said they would not be releasing the victim’s name while the investigation continues.
