Two years after a Rabbit Lake woman’s body was found in outside a home on the Red Pheasant Cree Nation, her mom is asking anyone who has information that could help solve the case to come forward.
Candie Pritchard’s remains were found on Feb. 5, 2024, and the Mounties’ search and rescue unit found additional evidence in a “treed area along a roadway on Red Pheasant Cree Nation.”

An autopsy determined that Pritchard’s death was suspicious, and the RCMP said its homicide unit took charge of the case.
Pritchard was 44 years old at the time of her death. The RCMP said her mother, Lorna, keeps her memory alive.
“Two years ago, our lives were forever changed when my daughter was murdered. The silence since then has been unbearable. Someone knows what happened, and we are pleading for that person or persons to come forward,” Lorna said in a statement shared by the RCMP.
“My daughter deserves justice and our family deserves peace. She was a caring, loving daughter, mom, sister and gramma. She never got the chance to meet or hold her two grandsons.”
The Mounties asked anyone who spoke with Pritchard or saw her on the Red Pheasant Cree Nation prior to her death to contact the Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
The Red Pheasant Cree Nation is located about 40 kilometres south of North Battleford.
