A man who stopped to grab coffee at a Regina pizza joint decided to “drop a few bucks” in one of the VLTs and ended up winning more than a million dollars.
Darrell Moe, a resident of Pilot Butte, won $1,320,716.96 from the Vault Breaker jackpot at Trifon’s Pizza on Feb. 5.

He said he was “shocked” when the on-screen vault opened and the machine congratulated him on a grand jackpot win.
According to the Western Lottery Corporation, Moe doesn’t have any plans for his windfall just yet, but will probably invest most of his prize money.
The province-wide jackpot has awarded $60,024,423.88 to 60 winners since June 2017. Vault Breaker’s province-wide grand jackpot has now been reset to $500,000.
