According to the recall, cereulide is a toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus.
“Cereulide is highly heat stable meaning it is unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking or when preparing infant formula for consumption,” said the Health Canada website.
If ingested, some symptoms include nausea and vomiting.
According to the government website, there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
The UPC for the product is 8 50045 23826 1 with the best before date of May 1, 2027.
