The 39th annual Z99 Radiothon gets rolling on Thursday, and the event is supporting a very important cause.
Z99 hosts Justin, Wheels, and Shauna Foster will broadcast live from the Cornwall Centre from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., raising money for the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, in support of the NICU in the Rawlco Centre for Mother-Baby Care at the Regina General Hospital.

“For 39 years, the Z99 Radiothon has rallied the people of Regina and southern Saskatchewan to help our NICU deliver the best possible care for babies in need, as close to home as possible,” Rawlco Radio, parent company to both Z99 and 980 CJME, said in a statement.
“The long-standing partnership between the Foundation and Rawlco Radio’s Z99 Radiothon helps provide the best local health care possible for 500 vulnerable babies every year.”
Since 1987, the annual radiothon has raised more than $12.2 million for the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, in support of the NICU. Last year’s event brought in $445,694.
“Through generous community support, the Radiothon has provided our NICU with leading-edge, life-saving technology that helps our medical teams care for fragile newborns and save babies’ lives,” Rawlco added.
The radiothon can be heard on Z99 at 98.9 FM, or online. Listeners were also invited to visit the Cornwall Centre at any time during Radiothon on Thursday to hear stories of how the NICU saves babies’ lives.
Donations can be made by phone or online.
