Zachary Lansard will get to represent his country for the first time on the ice.
The Regina Pats forward has been named to the Canadian roster for the 2026 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship, set to take place in Bratislava and Trencin, Slovakia.
Lansard enjoyed a great season on the ice for his WHL club as he was the only Regina player to appear in all 68 regular-season games. He finished with 56 points (24 goals, 32 assists) in his second year with the team. It represented a jump from 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 54 games as he was named the team’s rookie of the year.
The Ste. Anne, Man., product also added three goals in five games for the Pats in the team’s first-round WHL playoff series against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
It was a pivotal year for Lansard as he looked to increase his stock ahead of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. He was ranked 72nd when it comes to North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting.

He was also invited to the 2025 WHL Top Prospects Game in Langley, B.C.
Lansard is one of nine players from the WHL who will play in the tournament. He is the only one from a Saskatchewan-based WHL team.
Red Deer Rebels forward and Saskatoon product Beckett Hamilton is the lone player from the province who will be on the team.
The 2026 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship begins April 22. Canada will face Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, and Finland in the preliminary round. The tournament wraps up on May 2.
