Speaking to people filling up at the pumps in Saskatoon on Wednesday, a mother told 650 CKOM that her husband had warned her that prices were “just enormous.
“We can’t really fill up our whole tank,” she shared. “That’s just what we have to do.”
The woman said her family is making sacrifices on household and other expenses because of the heightened gas prices.

“Mostly outings for my son, I can’t take him out to Ruckers,” she said. “I have to just take him out to where all the mud is.”
She laughed, noting that her son isn’t too bothered by the inconvenience.
“But to us, it makes a lot of difference because we can’t go out to eat … it’s hard on all of us.”
Another woman filling up at 7-Eleven on 8th Street said she was surprised by the latest jump in prices.
“It’s quite a difference,” she said. “This is insane … it’s going to be hard for people to get around.”
A woman with an electric vehicle recommended others do the same.
“It’s amazing not to have to go fill up your tank when it’s -40 C,” she said.
“It’s too expensive,” a man at the station added, sharing that he, too, is not spending as much now out at other places with gas prices so high.
