Resurfacing work on Highway 7 in Saskatoon means drivers will have to deal with three weeks of traffic restrictions while the job is being completed.
In a news release on May 25, the City of Saskatoon said detours will be set up to help drivers negotiate the works on Highway 7 lanes from the CP rail line to 22nd Street W.
Starting on Tuesday, work will begin on the northbound curb lane of Highway 7 from CP rail to Hart Road until the end of Wednesday and repairs are scheduled to begin on the northbound median lane on Thursday and Friday.
From June 1 the resurfacing work will fully close northbound lanes on Highway 7 from Hart Rd to 22nd Street W SE ramp until June 4.
On June 5 the closures will affect the southbound curb lane of Highway 7 from 22nd Street W SW Ramp to CP rail, with work scheduled to run until June 7.
Crews will then shift on June 8 to the southbound median lane of Highway 7 from 22 Street W SW Ramp to CP rail until June 11.
The city provided its usual construction disclaimer that the work will done “weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.”
The city also said Saskatoon Transit could be affected.
