RCMP officers are investigating after after two people were injured by gunfire during an attempted robbery on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
According to police, officers were called to the First Nation northwest of Prince Albert at around 3 a.m. on Saturday. The RCMP said three people were sitting in a parked vehicle when an SUV pulled up nearby, and the occupants demanded the victims get out of their vehicle.

“The victims drove away and as they did, a firearm was discharged and struck their vehicle, injuring two of them,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“One was taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening and the other was treated by EMS at the scene.”
Police said officers are asking for help from the public as they work to located the SUV.
“The SUV is described black or dark-coloured. It had a sticker, potentially white and blue, on the back window on the passenger side,” the RCMP said. “The occupants are described as males, one of whom was wearing a mask.”
Anyone who has seen the SUV, or has information that could help the investigation, was encouraged to contact the Prince Albert RCMP or make an anonymous report through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
