“Investigation determined two suspects entered the store, waited inside for approximately 40 minutes and then stole merchandise from behind the counter,” the Regina Police Service said in a statement.
“When an employee confronted the suspects, one of them punched the employee and threatened them. The suspects then fled the business.”
Police said the two boys were found and arrested without incident in an alley on St. John Street after a short search of the area.
Both teens, who cannot be named publicly due to provisions of Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged with robbery, and they appeared before a judge at Regina Provincial Youth Court on Tuesday.
