What say you? The City of Regina is asking for feedback from residents on its Wascana Parkway extension project.
An online survey is available to let people living in the city share their opinions in order to help inform the city’s next steps on the project. The survey will be available until June 24.

Evan Guenther, director of sustainable infrastructure for the city, said the extension has been “a longstanding potential project and part of the City’s recommended road network since the 1980s.
“The City wants to hear from residents before it moves ahead to make sure that feedback is taken into consideration every step of the way,” Guenther said.
According to the city, the extension project will help relieve congestion in east Regina by providing an alternative route in and out of the southeast area.
Currently, the project is in the functional design phase, which is expected to wrap up at the end of the year. This phase assesses how feasible the potential extension is, considers impacts to the project area and offers recommendations.
Next steps, should the project be found feasible, would include requesting funding for a preliminary design, submitting a detailed design and, ultimately, construction.
The city called the survey part of a “comprehensive engagement strategy to inform and consult residents, impacted and interested groups and rightsholders.”
“Environmental, heritage, floodplain, traffic safety and noise considerations will be key considerations as the city moves forward,” the city added.
