The daughter and granddaughter of Saskatchewan Roughrider legend Al Ford will soon be on one of the biggest stages in television, hoping for the golden buzzer.
Supernova Acro Studio owner and choreographer Jill Ford, who was born in Regina but now lives in Edmonton, is bringing a group of her dancers to America’s Got Talent.

Ford said the group travelled to Los Angeles in March to film their performance for the show, which will be aired on Tuesday.
“We met lots of talented acts and different people. They treated us like gold,” she explained.
“There were cameras in our faces all day, so you really felt like a celebrity, and it was exciting. We were down there for four days, so we had a rehearsal on the stage, and lots of interviews.”
Ford said it was an intimidating experience for the dancers. She said there was a surprise on stage, but it was an amazing experience, overall.
“It was really fun, especially for these kids. They’re so young,” Ford said.
“To be on the world’s biggest stage, that was quite, quite nerve-racking. My daughter, who’s 21, said ‘I’ve never been more nervous in my life,’ just because you’re having to talk to Simon Cowell and these judges, and it’s a lot of pressure, but they handled it really well.”
Ford said her dad, Al Ford, is excited to watch the episode.
“He’s very, very excited, because he is a huge AGT fan. Watches the show all the time,” said Ford. “When I told him about this, he was like, ‘No way!’”
If they get a yes from the judges on Tuesday night, the team will return to L.A. for more rounds of competition on the show. But in the meantime, Ford said her dancers are looking forward to seeing themselves on the show.
“We’re all over social media right now, just because it’s going to be aired soon, so yeah, I think there’s a buzz, definitely, and everyone’s pretty excited,” Ford said.
“We’re having a massive watch party on Tuesday for family and friends, so over 200 people are going to be there.”
The performance will air on the season premiere of America’s Got Talent on City TV on Tuesday evening.
