A 34-year-old Regina man has been charged after Regina Police Service (RPS) said three people stormed a business on Rupert Street early May 30, armed with an axe and a knife.
In a news release on June 1, RPS said the trio threatened the victim, took cash, a cell phone, and the keys to a rental vehicle, then drove off. They later came back to grab a second vehicle, police added.

Officers tracked the second vehicle to a home on Elphinstone Street and arrested two people — one connected to the robbery, the other on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
The 34-year-old man arrested was charged with robbery, vehicle theft, possessing stolen property, and violating a firearms prohibition order. He was scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on June 1.
Lighter that looked like a gun brings charges
What started as a rock-throwing complaint took a dangerous turn on May 31 when a man pulled out what looked like a handgun and aimed it at an approaching officer, RPS said in a news release on June 1.
Officers were called to Froom Crescent around 10:45 p.m. after a caller reported that a man who was known to them was throwing rocks at their car.
When police arrived they quickly found the suspect and police said he became confrontational, reached into his pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a firearm and pointed it at an officer.
Police said the officer held his ground, determined the weapon wasn’t real, and took the man into custody.
The “firearm” turned out to be a lighter built to look like a gun.
A 45-year-old man was been charged with using an imitation firearm during an offence, possessing a weapon and assaulting a peace officer with a weapon. He was scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on June 1.
Man charged after machete found
Multiple people called police on the afternoon of May 29 to report a man outside a business on Rochdale Boulevard was brandishing a machete and threatening to stab someone, RPS said in a news release on June 1.
Police said the man had left in a taxi before officers arrived, but police followed the cab and pulled it over near Britton Bay. The man was taken into custody without a struggle, and police said officers found a machete tucked into his waistband.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on July 9.
Concealed weapon charges laid
RPS officers responded before 6 a.m. on May 29 to reports of a man waving a gun at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Broad Street, police said in a June 1 news release.
Officers took the man into custody without incident, and said they found a loaded 9mm handgun tucked into his waistband.
A 47-year-old man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm, careless handling of a firearm, and possessing a firearm without authorization. He made his first court appearance on May 29.
