A 29-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with luring a child and extortion after an investigation by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
According to police, officers executed a search warrant at a home in Saskatoon on Thursday, where they seized and examined electronic devices. Police said a 29-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the investigation that same day.

The man appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Friday and was released from custody with court-imposed conditions ahead of another appearance set for July 21, police said.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit, which includes police from Regina and Saskatoon, along with RCMP officers, works to investigate cases involving child sexual abuse and exploitation online.
Man allegedly assaults Saskatoon cop during arrest
A 42-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges of mischief and assaulting a police officer after his arrest last week.
According to police, officers were called to a business on Eighth Street East just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday after getting a report saying a man who was believed to be intoxicated was causing a disturbance.
“Upon police arrival, the man immediately became verbally confrontational and refused to cooperate,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“As an officer attempted to effect his arrest, the man began assaulting the officer and damaging police equipment. Additional officers arrived on scene and assisted in his arrest.”
Two women charged after allegedly stealing truck from dealership
Two women have been charged after allegedly stealing a 2026 truck from a Saskatoon dealership over the weekend.
According to police, officers were alerted to the theft on Sunday morning.
“Upon arrival, officers were able to view surveillance video showing a grey Audi SUV pulling into the parking lot,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“The suspects are believed to have then broken a glass door to gain access, before driving away with a 2026 GMC truck.”
Police said officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of the stolen truck about three hours later. The driver stopped the truck on Avenue D north where the two female occupants attempted to flee on foot, police said, but they were quickly arrested.
One suspect, a 25-year-old woman, has been charged with impaired driving, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine. The second suspect, a 34-year-old woman, was charged with possession of a weapon – bear spray – along with possession of stolen property.
“Members of the Break and Enter Unit are now investigating this incident and a similar one in which an overhead door was broken at a business in the 1700 block of Preston Avenue North,” police said.
Man, 19, hospitalized after stabbing on Saturday morning
Police say a 19-year-old victim was hospitalized after a stabbing on Saturday morning.
According to police, officers were called to 21st Street East at around 2:20 a.m. where they found the man with injures described as “non-life-threatening.” He was taken to a local hospital by paramedics.
“Through investigation, officers learned there had been a physical altercation between multiple suspects and the victim and a female who was with him before the stabbing occurred,” the police force said in a statement.
Anyone with information on the alleged attack was encouraged to contact police or Crime Stoppers to make a report.
Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested after allegedly fleeing from cops
A 31-year-old man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was arrested in Saskatoon early on Monday morning after allegedly fleeing from police.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, officers attempted to pull over a “suspicious vehicle” near the corner of Wiggins Avenue and 12th Street East at around 2:10 a.m., but the driver took off at high speeds.
“Officers disengaged from the evade police incident but later located the vehicle unoccupied in a parkade in the 100 block of hospital drive,” the police force said in a statement.
“Through investigation, officers were able to view video surveillance of the suspects entering a cab. Police then attended to the location where the cab dropped the suspects off where two women and one man were arrested without further incident.”
Police said the man, who was wanted on the warrant for allegedly breaching a statutory release, is now also facing charges of dangerous driving and evading police. One of the women, age 33, was charged with breaching court-ordered conditions, while the other woman was released without charges.
