The crash of a spray plane south of Weyburn on Wednesday has left a pilot fighting to recover from critical injuries.
According to a GoFundMe organized by a family member, Evan Hansen is now at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton with burns to 80 per cent of his body, as well as other life-threatening injuries.

“The past 24 hours have been a nightmare for his wife of five months, Annika Hansen (Zieber) and the entire Hansen and Zieber families,” the fundraising page says.
That page had raised close to $100,000 by Friday afternoon.
An update posted on Friday reported Hansen was still in critical condition but had made some small improvements after an “okay” night.
According to the RCMP, members of the Weyburn detachment were called to the crash of a small plane near Beaubier shortly after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The only occupant of the plane — the pilot — was airlifted to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.
The GoFundMe page says funds are needed to help Evan and Annika cover lost income, travel and accommodations, and living expenses, saying he’s expected to be in the hospital for upwards of four months.
