A woman is recovering from a stab wound and a Regina Police Service (RPS) officer is nursing minor injuries after an early-morning incident in Regina’s Al Richie neighbourhood on Saturday.
RPS said in a news release on July 13 that around 6 a.m. on July 11 a 31-year-old woman knocked on the door of a home on Rothwell Street. When a 36-year-old woman answered, police said witnesses told them the suspect stabbed her and then ran away.

RPS said victim and a 40-year-old man then went to another property in the 1100 block of Elphinstone Street. A short time later, police said the suspect tracked them down there, sparking a second fight involving the victim, the man, and two other people.
Police were called to the scene around 7 a.m, and police said the first officer to arrive spotted the female suspect trying to escape in a taxi and pulled the cab over.
While the officer was questioning her, the 40-year-old man tried to interfere. When he refused orders to sit down, the officer tried to arrest him but RPS said the man attacked the officer.
Paramedics treated the stabbed woman and the officer for minor injuries and police said everyone involved was known to each other.
The 31-year-old woman was charged with assault with a weapon and breaking probation, while the 40-year-old man was charged with assaulting a police officer and obstruction.
Both are scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 31.
Robbery charges for youth, woman
Two people are facing robbery charges after RPS said a woman was thrown to the ground, spit on, and mugged for her phone in the city’s Rosemont neighbourhood over the weekend.
RPS said in a July 13 news release that officers were called to the 4400 block of 4th Avenue around 9:35 p.m. on July 11, 2026, after receiving reports of an attack.
Police said that investigators were told a group of women had ambushed the victim, shoving her to the dirt and repeatedly spitting on her. During the struggle, the woman dropped her cell phone, which the attackers snatched before sprinting away, RPS said. Officers later found the phone ditched on the ground nearby.
The police plane was called in to join the search and spotted three people matching the description of the attackers just a few blocks from the scene.
Officers on the ground arrested two of the suspects without any trouble and determined that the third person had nothing to do with the incident.
Two woman, aged 20 and 17, were charged with robbery and appeared in Regina Provincial Court and Youth Court on Monday.
Man, 19, charged with assault
A 19-year-old man is facing a number of charges after an early morning assault on Pasqua Street ended with a police dog taking him down.
Just after midnight on July 13, Regina police were called to a home in the 4700 block of Pasqua Street in the Albert Park neighbourhood to deal with a disturbance.
RPS called in the police plane and officers on board spotted the man repeatedly kicking the front door of the home. He ran off when ground officers arrived, but a police dog quickly caught and bit the fleeing man to halt his escape.
Paramedics took him to hospital to get treated for the dog bite after police arrested him.
RPS said officers later learned that the teenager had attacked a man at the home earlier that evening. He left after the initial fight but came back to the property, prompting the emergency call. RPS confirmed the two men knew each other.
The 19-year old was charged with assault, resisting arrest, breaking a court promise, and violating his probation. He was scheduled to make his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Monday.

Regina police are asking for the public’s help to track down two men after they say an afternoon mugging on Albert Street on Friday left a man hurt and missing his phone.

A stranger walked up to him and picked a fight, RPS said, and while the two were fighting, a second man rode up on a bicycle and jumped in. According to police, the two men then grabbed the victim’s cell phone and ran away.
