A Saskatchewan company has been ordered to pay $8,000 in fines and surcharges after pleading guilty to a violation of the province’s occupational health and safety regulations.
According to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, Mallard Diversified Services Inc. entered the guilty plea in Wynyard Provincial Court on July 22, and two additional charges were withdrawn.

The charges related to an incident on May 10, 2024, when a worker in Wadena was injured after falling from a ladder onto a concrete floor while replacing springs on an overhead door.
The court issued a fine of $5,714.29 along with a victim fine surcharge of $2,285.71, adding up to a total payment of $8,000.
