Creighton robbery investigation leads to teen arrest

Creighton RCMP have arrested a teenage boy in connection with a robbery that happened earlier this week.

A male, described as “suspicious,” was reported on Creighton Avenue in the town of Creighton on Sept. 2, around 6:10 p.m.

“Investigation determined a male approached two individuals outside, demanded their personal belongings, and threatened them,” the RCMP said in a news release. “The male was wearing a face covering and was armed with a knife. The male then left on foot. No physical injuries were reported to police in relation to this incident.”

Police officers responded and reportedly found the male suspect nearby. He was arrested and police seized a knife that the teen reportedly had in his possession.

The boy is facing multiple charges, including robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence and uttering threats against a person.

He cannot be identified, as he is under the age of 18, under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The teen appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on Thursday.

Creighton RCMP said Flin Flon RCMP officers assisted in the investigation.
