The Regina Police Service, along with CN Rail Police, Emergency Medical Services and Regina Fire and Protective Services, was called to the train tracks near Elphinstone Street and McKinley Avenue on Sunday evening.
Police said a 16-year-old girl suffered serious injuries while attempting to cross the tracks. She was taken to hospital by EMS.

An investigation by the Regina Police Service and CN Rail Police is underway, but police said “the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature.”
Police added that members of the Forensic Identification Unit documented the scene and looked for evidence related to the incident.
This is the second significant train-related incident in the area in recent weeks. It happened just east of the Regina Rail Yards, where a derailment occurred last month.
Patrick Waldron with CPKC Communications said in a statement to CJME News that the derailment happened just before 10 a.m. on Aug. 1, when a train moving through the yard derailed a number of cars carrying shipping containers.
Waldron explained the derailed cars then hit an empty potash train parked on an adjacent track, and said two locomotives and approximately 13 cars were involved.
There were no injuries and there was no risk to public safety in the derailment, he said.
