Regina police briefs: Three youths charged after bear spray robbery

Three teens were arrested in Regina after a bear spray incident early on Sunday morning.

According to Regina police, officers were called to the 500 block of Wascana Street around 2 a.m. on Sept. 13 about a reported robbery.

At the scene, the adult male victim told responding officers he was at a business in the 4100 block of Fifth Avenue when multiple people came up to him.

The victim was bear-sprayed and the individuals took a bottle of alcohol from him.

Investigators found and arrested three suspects: a 12-year-old female, a 14-year-old male, and a 15-year-old female.

All three are facing robbery charges, and the two teenagers were also charged with failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.

Each of them made their first appearance in Regina Provincial Youth Court on Sept. 14.

Teenagers charged after robbery investigation

Another two teenagers are facing charges after a street robbery in August.

A little after midnight on Aug. 25, a group of young people stood outside a business in the 6200 block of Rochdale Boulevard when three masked men approached them.

According to police, the men threatened the youth with bear spray and demanded they hand over a backpack and other property.

The victims did as they were told, and the suspects got into a vehicle and fled the scene.

Police arrested an 18 year old and a 15 year old in the investigation. Both teens face numerous charges, including robbery and disguise with intent.

According to Regina police, the investigation is ongoing.

Break and enter investigation

A 26-year-old has been charged with break and enter following an incident Friday.

Around 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 11, Regina police said they were called because of a reported break and enter at a home in the 1200 block of Cameron Street.

Officers learned two men entered the home, one with a knife, while someone was inside.

According to police, they found a man at the back of the house during their investigation and confirmed he was one of the two suspects. Police also found a can of bear spray following his arrest.

The occupant of the home wasn’t physically injured, but the investigation is ongoing as police work to find the second suspect.
