Megan Moroney first 2027 headliner announced for Country Thunder in Craven

Country music star Megan Moroney has just been announced as the first headliner at Country Thunder Saskatchewan this summer.

Moroney will close out the show on Sunday, July 11, 2027.

Megan Benoit, a spokesperson for Country Thunder Music Festivals, joined The Greg Morgan Morning Show to make the announcement.

“We are on cloud nine to announce that Megan Moroney is coming to Craven,” Benoit said.

Pink billboards have teased the announcement over the past couple of weeks, and Benoit said Moroney’s fans likely picked up on the hint.

“I think the real passionate fans for this artist knew right away who it was,” she said.

Benoit said landing Moroney as a headliner is a big win for the festival, as the American singer/songwriter has been selling out stadiums across Canada and the U.S. on her Cloud 9 tour.

“She is country music’s ‘it girl’ right now,” said Benoit.

“I think the Taylor Swift comparison is fantastic. We saw, when Taylor was country, the excitement, and we had her, and now we’re bringing Megan Moroney. So we’re thrilled, and this was such a big win for us to bring her little old Craven.”

Benoit said the festival is selling some single-day tickets for the Sunday of Moroney’s performance, as well as weekend passes.

“We knew that people would be excited for Megan, so we wanted to release a very limited number of single-day tickets for only $150 plus all the taxes,” Benoit said.

“That is a great price to see Megan Moroney. She went on a huge tour, and those tickets were pretty pricey.”

Benoit said organizers are finalizing the other headliners for the 2027 Country Thunder Saskatchewan festival, with the full lineup set to be announced in the next few weeks.
