A flight from London, England, bound for San Diego, Calif., made an unexpected stop at Saskatoon Airport on Thursday.
The British Airways flight was diverted to Saskatoon for an unscheduled landing, according to the airport.

The diversion was “due to an emergency medical situation on board,” an airport spokesperson said.
“The aircraft is expected to depart for its original destination shortly,” the airport said in a statement issued shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday.

Stairs were positioned next to the aircraft for a while as it remained on the ground in Saskatoon. However, passengers were not seen disembarking.
