The Crown telecom company said its crews worked overnight on Thursday and continue to make progress restoring service after the outage, which the company said was caused by a damaged fibre cable.
“SaskTel Landline (Home Phone and Business Phone) services have now been largely restored in the impacted areas,” SaskTel said in a statement Friday morning.
“Wireless and Internet services have also been restored in most areas; however, they remain unavailable in Allan, Aberdeen and parts of Saskatoon.”
Restoring landline service means most customers will have access to 911 services again, SaskTel said.
“Customers who remain without service should use another provider’s service, where available, or physically contact emergency services for assistance,” SaskTel noted.
