Two people are facing charges in connection with a home invasion in Balcarres on Sept. 29.
An 18-year-old man and a male youth allegedly forced their way into a home and assaulted a man while he was in his bedroom. The suspects then stole some items and vandalized the property.
The victim got medical attention on his own.
On Saturday, the suspects were arrested and charged at a home in Fort Qu’Appelle.
Billy Jack Dieter, 18, from the Peepeekeekisis First Nation is charged with break and enter, assault causing bodily harm, and wearing a disguise with the intent to commit a criminal offence. The male youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing the same charges.
RCMP confirm the two accused and the victim knew each other and this was not a random act.
Both accused made their first court appearance Monday. Their next appearance will be Oct. 22.
